Emerald Gala 2018

May 11, 2018 - 6:30 PM Anderson Pavilion at Smale Riverfront Park

Our Much Ado event has officially moved from September 2017 to become a new fundraising Gala on Friday, May 11, 2018. Be sure to mark your calendars and save the date!

Why the change? 2018 will mark the 55th anniversary of Envision, formerly the Resident Home Corporation, and that is something we want to celebrate. 55 years ago, a small group of people got together with a radical and groundbreaking endeavor: to create a school that would provide education, care and guidance for children with disabilities. For the first time in the history of the State of Ohio, parents had an option other than an institution for their child with a disability. Our 2018 Gala will honor two of those men who were instrumental in creating the Envision that we know today: founding fathers Stu Warshauer and Bernie Esterkamp.

In addition to celebrating our heritage, our 2018 Emerald Gala will also be celebrating our current accomplishments, and the bright future for our organization. In the years since Envision was founded, we have continued to be a leader and model in our field. We have developed programs to help parents teach their children life skills; to support teens and adults with disabilities to experience their community; to provide safe homes and residential options for adults with disabilities who would not be able to live on their own without support; and respite services to support families when they need a break. Most recently, we are able to offer counseling services. 55 years ago, not one of these services existed. Today we are still reaching toward providing the best support and care possible.

Save the date and plan to join us for an all new Emerald Gala event on May 11th, 2018, to honor the 55 year legacy of our organization. 55 years of service to families and individuals with developmental disabilities. 55 years of progress. 55 years of seeing thousands of lives in our community enriched and improved.

Help us to celebrate our rich legacy and honor our founders who had the drive and bravery to stand up for those who could not do so themselves. Join us as we look forward to decades more service and the exciting potential we see in the future of people with developmental disabilities.

Envision started as a group of concerned parents and community members with a vision working together. On Friday, May 11, 2018 we will again gather together to celebrate Envision- past, present and future. It is the support of caring people like you that helped start Envision 55 years ago, and people like you who will enable us to continue our programs now!
